A ray of rainbow strings zigzag up towards the second floor where the glow of bright magenta emits from beneath a wall of white triangular panes. Spread over two floors in Ryerson University’s department of architectural science building are the Digital Tool Prototypes, interactive prototypes by fourth-year architecture students. From Jan. 19 to 23, they will also become part of the Toronto Design Offsite Festival, an annual festival to showcase the best of independent design in the city. The prototypes represent an idea, destined for something bigger but nevertheless provide a sense of wonder and inspiration to passersby.
