In pictures: A look at the province-wide walkout at Ryerson

Ryerson University students joined thousands of others across Ontario’s post-secondary institutions on Wednesday by walking out of class at noon to protest financial cuts to schools that the province’s Progressive Conservative government had outlined earlier this year.

Alongside cuts to OSAP, the walkout signified support for protecting student groups and organizations, providing public funding for public education, and demanding the right to organize – all factors that Premier Doug Ford’s administration has proposed slashing since his taking office last year.

The protest brought out many students who got up and walked out of their classrooms, many being encouraged by their own instructors to take part, or were walking down Gould Street during the two-hour protest.
