New Ryerson network helps students save money

Reuben Dela Vega is saving you money.

Vega, a third-year business management student, has been developing the Ryerson Students’ Preferred Network (RSPN) since he became the student development ambassador for the Ryerson Commerce Society in June.

The RSPN is a network of 12 businesses, ranging from restaurants to travel companies, which are offering deals to Ryerson students. The businesses include Basil Box, Uber, Grabb, Hard Rock Cafe, Denny’s, CopyRITE, Bareburger, Contiki, Scaddabush, Reds, Duke’s Refresher Bar, and Burrito Boyz.

“When students want to redeem the offer, or special deal, they go to the store and just show their OneCard,” says Vega. “That’s just what we have for now. We plan on implementing the OneCard as a form of payment off campus.”

But that’s not all Vega has in-store for the RSPN.

“Twenty-five [partners] by the end of the year,” says Vega. “That’s the goal.”
